Support for parents to care for a newborn or recently adopted child (bilingual)

Support for parents to care for a newborn or recently adopted child.

Parental Leave Pay is a shared payment between parents that can help if you are taking time off work to care for a newborn or recently adopted child. You can choose to share and take your Parental Leave Pay in a way that works for you and your family. Dad and Partner Pay was a payment for people with children born or adopted before 1 July 2023. It is no longer available. You can claim Parental Leave Pay instead. Most people can claim up to 3 months before their baby’s expected date of birth or adoption. We won’t pay you until after your child is born or comes into your care.
